A NEW WAY OF OFFERING PROGRAMS...PODS!!!
Pod definition: a detachable, self contained unit having a particular function
Times have evolved since I began offering apprenticeship programs in 1991. People have many commitments with work, family, children, and day-to-day living. Taking that into consideration, programs have been redesigned in order to facilitate time, expense and level of interest. Still being a strong advocate for hands-on learning, programs will be offered in "pods"...an APOTHECARY POD where the focus is on learning herbal preparations; in order to begin more intensive study, BODY SYSTEM PODS with a focus on learning four important body systems in two separate offerings; FORAGING PODS where, following the seasons from spring to fall, particpants can explore specific plants, learn about their medicinal and edible benefit, gather, and create hands-on. Interested in learning about skin? There will be a two part SKIN POD delving into herbs, oils and other ingredients for facial and body skin health and treatment. Find your interest, find your pod!!!
It is strongly recommended if you do not have an herbal background, that you begin with the APOTHECARY POD to learn about applications as these will not be taught within the context of the other pods.
A certificate is awarded for 50 hours of class/program hours attended and completed (this is equivalent number of hours in former Level 1 apprentice program)
